I need help on figuring out what these codes are on my '05, 6 spd with APS TT, Plenum, Test Pipes and 2.5 exhaust. I tried serching and this is what I found
p1078 - no info
p1084 - no info
p0507 - Idle air control system
Need help on how to fix the issue, anything would be appreciated. Thank you.

P1078 is bank 1
P1084 is bank 2

the codes are both for the exhaust valve timing position sensors.
Did your car just come out of the shop?

So my sensors are bad? or is the timing off?
I just had my car tuned at a local shop and after 3 to 4 days my SES light turned on.

I would say the tuning is a little off so the stock computer is thinking theres a problem with the timing. I'd take it back to where you had it tuned. Mainly I highly doubt both sensors went bad at the same time. If it was just one then yeah maybe the sensor is bad.

i know i'm digging way back in time here, but what ended up happening? anyone got any good info on these sensors or what would throw this code other than just a busted one?

i ask b/c the service engine light on my '05 6spd just came on and spit out the P1078 code too. i've looked around pretty extensively and haven't found too much out there. i made an appointment for after the weekend to get it checked but i'm lookin for some knowledge to calm my concerns
