You guys talk about FI like it's some sort of cheat. FI has been around for a long time, it's just another method of gaining power without a lot of weight/displacement, the same as supercharging. Clearly manufacturers like Subaru, Mitsubishi, and BMW can make NON-FI'd engines producing over 300hp easily, they just chose not to for these cars because in this application they determined FI was the better route.
I'm seriously confused by this thread. When comparing stock cars you're comparing them based on how they come from the factory, regardless of whether or not thats NA, FI, AWD, Supercharged, with wings, etc.
If you want to slap a twin turbo on your G then more power to you. It'll cost ~10k and you'll have no warranty, but you'll have a quick car. The problem is that's not how the car comes from the factory, so how can you compare it reasonably to other cars that are stock? Once you throw modding into the mix you open up so many theoretical possibilities it becomes very difficult to compare cars.
