Arrow Bob Evans Show 'n Shine - Pictures

We had a great turnout and a super time at the Bob Evans Show 'n Shine Saturday afternoon in St. Petersburg. Thanks to Dan for finding out about the show and getting everyone signed up.

I talked to the Bob Evans Manager earlier in the week and she said the first meet had 12 cars and the second meet had 20 cars. Whatever they did to advertise the third meet surely worked because there were 72 cars the last count I heard.

The meet was open to all types of cars and trucks. There was one truck at the meet, and, sure enough, he won Best Truck again. I'd say there were about 60 to 65 imports at the show. Competition for Best Import was tough.

We got to the show a little after 3pm and not too many people were there:

We parked at the far end of the parking lot, away from the restaurant. Mark's Maxima is on the left, then two cars not in the FGC (more on the Evo later), then Me, then Chad, Bill, razor1, and Daniel.

After about a half an hour, the place was packed. People were parking and walking everywhere. Some people even parked next door at the Motel.

Chad's G was looking good...

Daniel's G was still looking super. Dan was nice enough to wash it for the show this time.

Mark's taking a picture of a hot G... He wasn't tentative this time! Glad you could make it out, Mark.

Razor1 had his G out for the car show and he had several new mods... He installed a nice, new front lip, a rear spoiler, and the new HKS clone exhaust (More on that later).

And finally the car we were waiting to see... Bill (Ferk) got a set of gorgeous new Racing Hart wheels and tires from Daniel at Boosted Concepts. The new wheels and tires, added to his recent headlight overlays and billet front grill, make his G look like a new car. Super job Bill!

And a little secret also popped up... Bill's daughter, Caitlyn, was spotted giving Bill's Coupe a touch-up during the afternoon.

A couple more shots of Bill's G...

(a few more to come...)

Rich drove his GTR up from Sarasota... Very nice!

Whoa... No steering wheel...

Whoops, there it is...

Engine compartment looking good...

Rich was the only car at the show that could rightfully display the Skyline lettering on his trunk lid...

A very low 240...

A slick Supra...

Very nice Civic engine compartment...

Near the end of the show, a Mustang pulled up that was very slick, and a bit unique. It certainly had a lot of horsepower.

and the owner seemed to like to race Hemi's...

and had a unique sense of humor about hogging the left lane as evidenced by this slogan painted on his front bumper... (get it?)

(a few more to come)

There were lots of Subies at the Show...

I believe this Z won Best of Show.

This is the little Evo that parked next to us. I thought it was a very well-build... well thought out, beautiful car. I would have voted for it to be the Best in Show... but I had no vote of course...

Here's a picture of my HKS exhaust tip...

And here's a picture of Razor1's clone exhaust tip...

Although they look a bit different in these two pictures, they look almost the same in real life. The clone exhaust has its tips positioned a bit further inside the body that mine.

We also started both cars and both exhausts sound similar. Bill listened to both cars and said the clone exhaust was a bit louder. I thought that was a bit unusual because my exhaust has been on my car for 8 or 9 months and the clone exhaust is new. Maybe it is just a bit louder in general. Anyway, it looked good to me.

I had a fun time at the show and hope the other FGC members did too. If you haven't attended a Mini-Meet or local car show, get out and do it. It's a lot of fun... You'll be glad you did!

That's for me... Anyone else that took pictures (Mark!) feel free to post them in this thread if you want.
