How to: Rear-view camera while driving
Ok.... I was looking at camera diagnostics the other day and discovered you can make the camera work while driving forward as well.
I recommend you be stopped while initiating this or have a passenger initiate the diagnostic sequence if you are moving.
1. Turn the audio system OFF. Unfortunately this is required.
2. While pushing the “SETTING” button, turn the volume control
dial clockwise or counterclockwise for 40 clicks or more. (When
the self-diagnosis mode is started, a short beep will be heard.)
• Shifting from current screen to previous screen is performed
by pushing “BACK” button.
3. The trouble diagnosis initial screen is displayed, and then the
items of “Self Diagnosis” and “Confirmation/Adjustment” can be
selected.
5. Access Confirmation/Adjustment
6. Access Camera Cont.
7. Select --> Adjust offset of rear view camera
This turns the camera on in all gears and speeds. I was able to drive into work with it running the entire way.
Notes:
-No radio, voice control and I would imagine Bluetooth as well while running in this mode
-To exit just hit the Back button until you escape to root level. Nav will reboot at this point and you will get back to the disclaimer page.
-Guidelines do not turn in this mode. In fact this is for their adjustment so be careful you don't mess up your distance calibration while you are in there.
If nothing else a way to see how close someone is at a stoplight without having to put it in reverse.
