Secondly, the nicer cars are driven mostly for brand. Hence why you see more 3 series coupes vs G35 coupes...
since when are american's rational? lol. You see more 3 series because they are nicer cars than the G35 coupes lol and yes there is a bit of brand loyalty there. 4 to one is probably a very low ratio. It's probably more like 8 to 1.

People will know about the GT-R bud. You keep saying this but i think you are sadly mistaken. Everybody will know about it once it comes out just because of the utter quickness of it. It has set the fastest lap time at "the ring" for any production car.

wrong again. Infiniti does not have a strong brand name and they came out of no where with huge sales figues for the G35 (which is a skyline for all of your pesimism) hugely decreasing BMW's, Audi's, and MB's sharehold on this market.

based on what? i know a number of 30 year old guys with srt4s. They're quick cars that will spank us in a heartbeat.

cars priced >30-35k are targeted at males/females over 25...

cars in the 45-60k are normally targeted at males/females over 30...

Once again, people will know about this car when it comes out if they don't know about it yet. The buzz is already pretty massive. Tons of people that didn't know anythnig about the GT-R's that i've talked to are anxiously waiting for the new GT-R.

the people who play these games and watch these movies aren't the only car enthisiasts or even Japanese car enthusiasts. Figure though, how long ago did the first F&F or Grand Turismo game come out? Then allow for the change in time->change in education and income->now in the market for more expensive cars = the new GT-R. That's only figuring a small part of the market. You have to add in then everyone else.

No it won't sale like crazy, because of the cost for one, but it will easily spank the new M3 and Vettes so Nissan will definitely be taking away some of their client base. But there still is strong client loyalty and pleanty of bimmer and vette fanboys that it won't hurt them too much. I think the GT-R will sell well, but It still wont be very common. (think about how many c6 vettes you see on the road, then add another 20k pricetag and the possible change in demographics). It's not going to sell poorly at all though.

Puria just loves to bash the skylines even though he drives one.
