^^^is that why evos and stis are listed as A stock in SCCA autocrossing? i guess cuz they're so crappy at the track?
and also,
the evo is actually faster 0-60 because it only needs 1 gear change; the sti needs 2.
as for what's better? i bought the evo because of its handling characteristics; power is easy to make on these two cars. handling, however, is trickier to tune appropriately.
stis/wrxs have been known to blow up trannys (not on a large scale, mind you--but noticeable) because their clutches are stronger than the evo's--thus, the load from launches directly impacts the tranny. the evo's clutch goes out in order to prevent the tranny from taking such loads; which is cheaper to fix?
