Spring Noise from front of car

Spring Noise from front of car
Does anyone else hear a noise that sounds like something "springing" into place? It seems to come from the front of the car. I hear the sound whenever I pull out of my garage and start driving forward. I don't hear the sound at any other point while driving.

I think he's talking about that noise of the ABS testing, it sounds like a small spring, almost a twang. I had a noise like you are talking about, and they did a TSB on it, seems to have taken care of it.

What noise are you referring to? Can you find the TSB? I thought the noise "small spring" like, is doing ABS self-testing. This self-testing noise will start every time when the car is started and rolled within 15 mph. Are we talking about the same thing?

Re: Spring Noise from front of car
Thanks for the TSB. I actually saw this TSB long ago. I have one of this creaking noise happens ONLY in the morning for the first time I start the G when it rolls over a bump or dip where the pavement/road connects. (Haven't heard it any other time in the day even when the car is cold.)
Did this happen to you like mentioned above as well?
How did you get the dealer to perform this TSB?
The reason I'm asking because this only happens first time in the morning when you roll the car over the bump. After the car is driven for a few minutes, you won't hear the noise anymore. So, it's kinda hard to have them "replicate" the problem. I'm kinda immuned to the noise now; i tried really hard to ignore it, but I hear it EVERY morning.
But if there is a way to get the dealer to perform this TSB without replicating it, this G would be one more step closer to near perfect!!

Re: Spring Noise from front of car
I believe what you hear is the self test for the VDC (traction control) module, which makes the soft spring like "boing" sound after you move forward a few yards after the car's been sitting for a while. They briefly describe it in the owner's manual. Mine does it too. It's normal. Aggravating yes, but normal.

Re: Spring Noise from front of car
It's definitely not the ABS self-testing. I know what that sounds like and I get that just like you mentioned by only moving a few yards each time the G is started and starts rolling.
This noise I'm asking is coming from the front, seem like it's something rubbing against each other causing the noise... I believe it's the same as what ABQ_G35 described.

cke73, to make sure we aren't talking about two different things here, the noise I was getting, actually hard to describe, was almost like one guy here put it, the Aflack Duck, LOL, of course not that loud, but that's what it reminded me of. Anyway, I took my car in for service, and mentioned this noise, even that it was very elusive, I don't know if they "replicated" it or not, but that TSB took care of it. Now, the other sound, (the ABS or VDC, whichever it is) sounds like a spring releasing, almost a "fart" sound, not like the "Aflack" sound, I hope this makes some sense, it's so hard to describe these sounds here, LOL!
