We eat regular button mushrooms a few times a week. The next commonly eaten mushroom at my house is the Portabello and $hitakes once in a while
As 6MTzer said the morel is also one of my favorites. I was out in the bush looking for them this week, but it is still a bit early. I look forward to a few morel feasts every spring when they are growing in the woods and I am lucky enough to pick a bunch.
You probably remember this pic from last year after I picked a few.
Next on my list is that big round delicacy in the fall that we go out hunting for. That would be the Puffball. They taste great sliced and fried in butter. |
