Last week I at a very small piece of filet mignon and about an hour later was really sick. I thought it was the meat. Sat. night I ate a small chunk of tri-tip and about an hour later was sick. Yesterday I tried about 3 bites of very lean hamburger patty and got sick. All these meats I have bought fresh and cooked myself, no one else got sick but me. I think it's time to give up red meat. I love it but can't seem to handle it anymore. It really sucks because after my 11 mile run yesterday I was craving red meat! Oh well.

I find I have the same problem....back years ago when I lived at home with my parents, we'd have red meat probably once a week, but then when I went off to college (and ever since then....), I've very rarely had red meat. At first it wasn't a conscious choice, just something I noticed I ate much less often....then when I got out of school, I couldn't justify the price of red meat, so I stuck with chicken....now, I've just continued avoiding it both for the price and for the nutritional value. Every time I eat some, I end up feeling like crap pretty quickly after, so I pretty much just stay away from it. I was really craving a hamburger a couple weeks ago, but that was before the wedding so it was off limits anyways....
