People are gonna be spending thousands just to achieve the performance you can get by pushing a couple buttons that came with the car!
Again, the car can most definitely be beaten by other cars in the 1/4 mile for far cheaper. I don't believe anyone is disputing that, I am certainly not.

However just remember the car is the sum of it's parts and is designed to be an all weather, all around car, with anyone. I believe that's basically what Nissan aimed for and I believe they achieved that.

While the power and straightline acceleration can be matched and beat without a major amount of effort, I feel the driver aids and chassis developement are items that cannot be so easily matched, even by other car manufacturers. The car is amazing at speed and feels planted like none other I've ever driven.

No BS, if I really wanted to build a 1/4 mile car, then I would have kept my G which was already TT'd. I did buy the car for the performance and exclusivity and haven't been disappointed. I also looked at getting a Z06 and a 911 Carrera & Cayman. I decided against the Porsches because their lack of room, but I loved everything else about them. I decided against the Z06 because I felt the GT-R was a better fit for me and haven't been disappointed.

I intend on keeping the GT-R for a long while and if my fortunes are good, I'd like to buy a Z06 somewhere down the line since I've loved Vettes since I was a kid. I have never knocked any other good performance car (well maybe Mustangs, but they aren't good ) and accept that they all have their own strengths and weaknesses. What makes me raise my eyebrows are that guys just start dissing on this car or that, but they don't own one and have never driven one.
