I own a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with the MB CRD engine and it is amazing. The trans was from the previous generation E55 and that is the only thing I could complain about but it is much better than any of the Jeep transmisisons I have ever had. The 3.2L CRD is the best engine (for everyday use) I have ever had the pleasure of driving. It's torque in the heavier less aerodynamic Jeep is amazing and in the E class which I have driven feels even better. The MPG I am getting after 22k miles is right around 23mpg which for a 4,600lb SUV that can tow 7,200lbs is pretty good in my opinion. If I drive it like I should then I usually see 26mpg. In my opinion, for a daily driver Diesel is the way to go.
