I don't buy the reasoning of having an AK-47 for home defense. In the example he used the guy would have to have the gun loaded and ready to go at a moment's notice. If it was locked up and secured it would have little use when 7 people rush into the house. So it would have to be loaded and accessible to be useful, but he said there were a number of kids in the house. Having a loaded, unsecured/semi secured AK-47 in a house with a bunch of kids doesn't sound too responsible.
