brembo & akebono brake tests?

I was wanting to compare test between the brembos and akebonos to see how much better the akebonos actually are. Does anyone have stats on the two?

From what I've read (IE: board opinion) is that the akebonos aren't as good as the brembos.

Hoping someone who's had both could chime in.

Yeah, that's what I've heard as well, but then I would have to ask: why would infiniti get rid of the brembos?

Chime in people, post some opinions.....
Maybe I should've posted this in the general section

Yeah, but I'm trying to compare the 03-04 G35 brembos with the 09+ G37s akebonos. I don't think the GT-R brembos are the same 03-04's

So by saving money did they sacrifice performance? I would still like to see some performance tests on each one. I'll try googling some more.

Ake's are a lot heavier than the Brembo's, so there's some performance loss right there. most people don't by Ake's for performance.

so here's what i found so far

g35 brembo 60-0 is 109' (click link go to post #6)
http://www.6mt.net/forum/g35-coupe/1...nce-ya-na.html

g37s 60-0 is 110' and g35 w/ brembo is 112' (go to post #12)
http://my350z.com/forum/brakes-and-s...s-on-350z.html

these 2 links give different stopping distances for the brembos but it gives you a general idea. also note a g35 weighs a tad less than a g37 so a g35 w/ ake's should be a tad better than 110'.

So all in all it looks like they're basically the same as far a stopping distances go. I don't know much as far as breaking performance goes. I know there's more to it such as fade and heat resistance so if anyone else knows more, feel free to chime in So far it seems brembos are the way to go considering the cost of an ake setup.

I bought akebonos for the looks. They are also pretty heavy. idk anything on Brembos. So far the akebono stops pretty good.

I had Brembos on my 03 G35 and now have Akebonos on my 09 G37. I wish I still had my Brembos. To me, there is a night and day difference in performance.

infiniti went away from the brembos to save money. they also had to deal with the issue of the brakes on the 03-04 automatic g35s wearing out very quickly. by introducing upgrade brakes for the auto coupes and sedans which infiniti was also able to use on the 6MTs, it saved enough money to offer the rays 19" forged wheels.

as far as overall performance, i would give a slight nod to the brembos... fact being is that you can run a smaller rim over them... and in the world of racing... any weight reductions help.

well, you cant really compare G35 w/ brembo to a G37 with ake's. two different chassis you're talking about here...

I think a good test would be to try and find a g35 w/ brembo's VS g35 with ake's
