There are multiple forms of an RGB hookup. Just because you have an RGB DVD player doesn't mean that it will work with our stock Navi. The most important factor is the type of RGB it is. Our stock screen uses an RGB + Sync signal, your DVD Player most likely uses an RGB signal that includes the sync information with the G signal.

I believe there are adapters that will extract the sync signal from the G wire and give you a sync signal to hook up. Without a sync signal you will not be able to get video data on the screen.
