AVIC-N1 or ALPINE IVA-D300?

should i go for pioneer avic-n1 or alpine iva-d300 ?

help me out!
the n1 has NAV and G-force thing! but 6.5" screen
this sounds more fun with all these functions
but the picture quality and sound quality may be not so good!
this unit cost around $1800

Alpine has Pulsetouch display and visual EQ and a 7" screen
alpine's iva-d900 is very good name on the picture quality
with 1.15 million pix
so i think this iva-d300 picture quality will be good too
the sound quality is good too
but this has not much to play around!

AVIC-N1 around$1800
Alpine iva-d300 around $1500

link for Alpine iva-d300 http://www.alpine-usa.com/
link for AVIC-N1 http://www.avic-n1.com/
which to choose? which will YOU choose?reason?

Re: AVIC-N1 or ALPINE IVA-D300?

Doesn't look like that Alpine unit is available yet nor does it have navigation so you'd have to get a seperate nav unit to go with it.

I just bought the AVIC-N1 myself (check other threads here). It's a single din unit that does everything (Nav, Mp3, Dvd, system dynamics). Of course the downside is because it only has one dvd-rom, you might have to switch out between nav dvd and mp3 cd (although it's memory nav feature gets around this if you know your route).

Alpine say that the 300 will be released this month. At "around $1500".

No NAV but it has the imput so the touch screen will control the NAV. You have to add the Alpine NAV add-on thing. It lists for $1800. So $3300 to have just about the best setup around.

Re: AVIC-N1 or ALPINE IVA-D300?

its down to the PRICE!...Alpine has better pic quality, bigger screen and PULSE-TOUCH, but no NAV, N1 has all you need in one unit and for around 1000 less!

was out today to lQQk for them, most shop dont have them untill end of this month!, found one shop do have one, but he wanted 2200 plus installation! the best price i can find was 1900 installed, also asked about the TV tuners was qouted 350 for the poinners or 275 for the universal ones, and 175 for the backup cam.

i think for the money, you can not beat the N1, yes it has its draw backs(swaping disc, smaller screen), but i think i can live with those, and i will have money for rest of the car...s.w.

You can get the AVIC-N1 for about $1700 online. Without much searching (for example ebay if you trust ebay).

Re: AVIC-N1 or ALPINE IVA-D300?

well for me, i dont rellay like to order electronic stuff online, besides i cant nor want to install it myselfs, i think its worth the extra couple hundre bucks for the trouble to take apart the dash and possiblely the trim along the bottom to run the cables to the rear deck for the GPS S/R unit, and install the brain under the seat or the trunk.

thought about couple things about the N1, it only have 2 volt pre out, so we might want to lQQk for some hi volts line-driver, other is that, about the disc swaping? if you have an changer, and use changer for the music, would that free up the in-dash drive, so i dont have to swap the disc? OR better yet since i already have pionner's deck, i can just keep it and just use the N1 for movies and NAV, saw one forum member did that few days ago!.....YEAH!!!....off to the shop i gooooo....hehehehe

wait a sec....that guy was YOU....hahahahaha

Re: AVIC-N1 or ALPINE IVA-D300?

for any player to fit in the G35, you will have to get the double-din dash kit...
today we completely took apart my center console and found that the upper center console only has 5" of horizontal depth. You need at least 7" to mount a 1-din sized player above the heat controls in the center cubby.

I almost bought the AVIC-N1 but good thing my CC was declined... HAHAHAHA... you can get it from onlinecarstereo.com for 1699 shipped by the way.
