how can you get a back up to work, i have an 05 and have a backup of 6.7 and the program cd but i cant get the program cd to work, should the program cd but on a cd-r or dvd-r

It has to be on a DVD+R DL disk. Otherwise the files will not fit.

i know the map disk does but what about the program disk?

pending on how it was ripped, it can be any of the 3.
 the file size of the program disc is a mere 158mb, which should fit a CD-R. But i've seen and test some of the ones i've downloaded online and they were more and some were corupt as well...
