Speaker and headunit problem

This problem just started happening. While im driving, the speakers will randomly stop working and the the cd wont play anymore. It sounds like the speakers are loosing power and wont emit any sounds. I tried to eject the cds but they wont eject either. Sometimes the cd player and speakers will work fine and then the problem randomly starts occurring. Anyone have an idea of what the problem is?

Sounds like your another victim of the failed OEM headunit curse ...

sorry -- no easy or cheap solution to this other than
1) consider DDin headunit and JDM finisher
2) look for functional headunit and OEM components in blackmarket on this site
3) take car to infiniti and get jacked on the repair

I strongly suggest you consider options 1 or 2

ya you can get a decent deck for that amount.
The 2 main things to taking out our deck that you need is PATIENCE and proper tools.
What year is your car? if it's an 04 here's how you take it apart (by memory):
1. with a PLASTIC pry tool - wedge it underneath the clock area and pry a little bit at a time up while pulling on it - it does take a bit of force but don't try to over do it.
2. on the driver's side below the steering wheel - there is a 10mm bolt in the bottom left corner of the knee bolster next to the hood pop. (may be another 10mm on the right side of the knee bolster)
3. pull knee bolster directly towards you. Unclip the A/C sensor and pull off the hose (THESE MUST GO BACK ON WHEN YOU PUT BACK TOGETHER) With a set of needle nose pliers take the hood pop cable out - there is a notch to slide it out.
3a. pop off the cigarette lighter area it will pull towards you
4. Passenger side glove box area. first pull up the side sill you can use a pry tool here. at the right corner of the glove box area there is a 10mm screw. I think it just pulls off after that.
4a. pull off the 12volt adapter panel - same as drivers side
5. if you have a manual tranny twist the shift knob to the left - if you haven't changed it this will be hard as hell - then grab the trim area around the shift knob by the leather and directly up. it will then slide out towards the back of the car.
6. There are two 10 mm screws in the area you just revealed.
7. There is one 10mm screw in the area by the clock on a curved piece of metal. take that out and the whole shebang will slide out similarly to the shift knob panel area - down and back

To reassemble follow these instructions backwards. MAKE SURE YOU PLUG EVERYTHING IN YOU HAD TO DISCONNECT!
