Need Help With Audio Setup.
I am about to upgrade my current setup to something stronger...
currently pushing one sub w/ a jl audio 500/1. I just purchased a Memphis 16-MC1000D Amp. This amp is pushing about 1100rms. My question is should i upgrade my battery or anything else to support the extra 500rms. Im not trying to get a cap cause i hear it "strains" your system? I also have the stock navi installed so im running quite a bit of electrical stuff. Also does anyone know how to get rid of the rattle where my bluetooth speaker is? Like next to the map-light. When i push that area up it stops the rattle. 2006 G35 Coupe W/ Bose Stock Navi Stock HU Stock Speakers Stock Battery Memphis 16-MC1000D Amp pushing ~1100rms.

The last time I measured my 08 xs with everything on it drew about 41 amps. I assume the 06 is similar. Now add 94 amps to that and you have about 135 amps. (if not a class d then it will be possibly only 50-60% efficient). The stock alternator on the 08 is 110 amps with a 140 amp fusible link. This fits in with many alternators having about a 30% overcurrent factor. You may or may not get away with stock, but you are running right at the limit. A second battery, cap, etc. will not make up for the fact that you are possibly exceeding the capacity of your alternator. You may want to consider upgrading the alternator to something like a 150 amp version, possibly with dual outputs, one dedicated to the operation of the car. When doing so you may also have to upgrade the wiring to the alternator.
