Hey guys,
My stock radio is dying and it looks like I'm gonna need to replace it, so I think that I will get DD kit and just get aftermarket radio.. Because last time I replaced my stock radio like 6 or 7 years ago I have no idea what to look for so would be nice if I would get some recommendation for G35 (2004 coupe) I don't need NAVI because I have stock one but I would like to have: 7" touch screen, Stock Sirius Radio to work (do I need any extra parts?) iPod/iPhone connectivity DVD player and is it possible to use steering wheel controls to operate any aftermarket radio? Thanx!! Mike |

I believe you will lose the navi sounds if you replace the HU. But i think 16psibrick found a way to get the sound back.

If you want to keep your navi sound. ![]() You can purchase one of those PAC-xxxx model if you want to use your steering wheel functions.

I have a ecplise in dash tv/DVD in my 05 g35. I was about to get sound waves to fiberglass a panel for the tv. But I found out that u can order te dash kit out of the skyline in japan and I love it. It has the same silver material as stock and looks like it came in the car stock. It is about 300 for the actual dash price though. I have pics of it just not on this site if interested in my pics IM me and I will send them to u

What's important to you in the HU?
If you want voice control over everything, Pioneer units have the best voice control. If you don't care for voice control, Kenwood units are very solid. I have a Pioneer F90BT in my wife's with the steering wheel controls adapter, so it works great. The F90BT is slow to boot, but otherwise a good unit, with a few quirks, which are worth putting up with since I love the power of the voice control over the iPod. If you're willing to dish out $1200+ for the Pioneer Z110BT, it's the best unit I've seen period. Boots fast, voice control of nav, phone, and iPod, and you can get HD, Sirius, MSN Direct and XM and just about anything else via add-ons.

+1 on the F90BT, love it. As long as people understand that most of these radios are full computers that take time to boot and if you jab a bunch of buttons, it will take time to process, they usually understand. The F90BT is last years model, you can find refurbs on ebay cheap. My roommate and a friend have them and have had no problems. The newest model will be the X910BT, same feature, slight redesign.
Unfortunately once you replace your stock radio, the factory sat is inop. Just buy a compatable on for the new radio and you will have full control over it. |

Since I have a stock Navi and I don't need it in my DD unit I was just looking at JVC KW-AVX820.
http://mobile.jvc.com/product.jsp?mo...hId=133&page=3 Anyone has any experience with this device or other JVC units? I would probably need separate modules for iPhone and steering wheel control but what abut satellite radio? Currently I have a stock Sirius installed.. thanx ![]() PS> One more question. Should I get JDM Double Din kit like this one from ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-I...Q5fAccessories or should I get something else? Is there everything what I need or would I need to get some other accessories like wires, connectors etc? |
