Ok I'm about to order everything and I just wanna make sure I got everything down. I know it's been repeated a million times but I want to try something new.

Ok so first the Kp Tech module will allow me to either use the navi or switch to the dvd player by holding the ok button for a sec. What if I want the ability to do both?

Then the TVandNav2Go unit allows me to input the reverse camera and the dvd player to the monitor. It will automatically switch to the reverse camera when put in reverse if wired.

I was also going to add on the KP tech module which lowers the side mirror to view the curb. Anyone know if it resets perfectly to where the mirror was prior?

Now as far as the sound. the PAC module will allow me to input DVD into the SAT button. I also wanted to hard wire a bluetooth maybe? Into the tape button? I think its safe to say I wont be using the tape deck.

I read a bit about using a carputer instead of a dvd player. Can anyone confirm that It would not look right on the screen? A computer would do it all, DVD, Bluetooth, MP3. If the screen doesn't work anyone try to switch the screen but keep the same motorized case?

Sorry if I am repeating, I read quite a bit but just wanted to clarify before I buy the whole system.

Thanks!

There are a couple options. Basically you need sound and video.

Sound, I used the PAC Unit, pac aai-nis2. $60-100.
Video, I used the Tvandnav2go.com unit. (Plug and play). $225.
PAC makes a universal unit but it costs around $400 I think.

Then just a DVD player, I used a JVC unit which has a USB and AV input on the front for extra kicks. The quality is actually very good. I was surprised. I am now working on a carputer, cant seem to get from VGA to RCA Composite video with decent quality. Once I do, I will sell my DVD player if you are interested, it is only 1 month, old.

Good luck!

I am not familiar with the pioneer z2 but with a unit like the TVandnav2go you can put 2 video inputs into your factory screen. You can have an output from the pioneer unit to one and the backup camera to the other.

Here are a couple videos of my set up. I have a JVC DVD player with a USB port and mini AV in on the front and it plays Divx videos too. So far no complaints. The quality of these clips aren't great but the quality of the DVD on the screnn is actually very good. the backup camera too (Alpine). I wish the DVD could be closer but I couldnt find a place. I dremmeled large holes in my glove and because of a metal bar above it, the DVD player still didn't fit.

I have two buttons, one to switch between the stock nav and DVD player, and the other you can see in the video what it's for.

Decided to give up on the Carputer for now, couldn't get a good quality video on the stock nav screen. Well, not as good as the DVD player anyway. Plus I love the fact that the DVD player remembers where I was when I turn the car off and on. To my knowledge you can't accomplish that with a carputer.

Just wanted to thank all the guys on this post for making my set up a lot easier to figure out and install. THANKS!

I looked on pioneers site. Nice unit! It has composite video out. You would have to hook that up to something like the tvandnav2go. That pioneer unit also has a back up camera input. U can either use that or the other video input on the tvandnav2go for the reverse camera.

Depends what you want showing up on which screen. But it seems like its all possible and shouldn't be too difficult. (Other than the Double DIN installation).

Good luck.

Not sure, never looked into it since I wasn't going that route. I'm sure its in the forums, search for double din, i think theres a sticky.

BUT, why would you want 2 navs? Im sure the pioneer one is MUCH better than the stock nav. I am not fond of it at all.

i thought about doing the same thing once upon a time but didnt want to spend that much from the beginning. I would def see the advantage of having the DVD playing on the top screen and the nav on the bottom. Just make sure the pioneer can have dual video outputs simultaneously, which it most likely does for people with screens in headrests.
