App Radio Help

Hello All,

I'm installing my AppRadio3 and am having an issue with the system install... I wired up the harness to the ROEM-NIS2, but when I plug in the unit it returns no power at all. I checked the connections for switched power, constant power, and ground and they are all good. Based on this, I believe I should be getting power to the unit but I feel like I'm probably missing something really simple. HELP!

Make sure the unit is working fine by getting it tested. Are you following Wrathernaut's double DDin install guide?

Yeah I followed Wrathernaut's wiring diagram to a T... at this point I can only imagine that it's the unit unless it's something stupid like there's a switch on the AppRadio that I didn't flip or something.

Did you not disconnect the battery before starting work and blow the fuse? Does the AppRadio have a fuse on the back that's blown?

Fuse is still good...

Pic of the current spider wiring mess? I am imagining you are having an issue with your switched power if it won't even turn on!

I can put a picture up but I used a volt meter to check all the connections and they're all connected and good.

Well the cardinal rule is never to crimp but to t-tap. I'm going to go ahead and say redo that crimp and you'll be amazed how you missed the copper.

Would I need to recrimp if the volt meter is reading a connection on the main 3 wires?

I don't know about what clergy use for connecting wires, but the best method by far is solder, preferably heat-shrinked.
T-taps have their place, like if you're just trying to add something temporary, or there's not enough play in the wires to solder in a proper connection, but I'd never use them as a primary connection method.
