Need help with g35 tweeter installation

I am trying to replace my oem tweeters in my G35 Sedan with Polk Db1001 but it doesnt

appear to fit. I am following a DIY from http://forums.nicoclub.com/diy-tweet...e-t334916.html

and in his DIY he uses the db1000 but states that the db1001 are pretty

much the same and should install with no issues.

My problem is that my brackets do not look the same as his and even when I try to fit it

without the bracket, the cover will not sit flush because the tweeter is too big.

My questions: are coupe and sedan tweeters the same? Is the area behind the cover the

same depth? How can I fit the tweeters without modifying anything?

I've attached a picture of how my oem tweeter and bracket looks.

thank you

Brackets on the coupe/sedan tweeters are very different.

Tweeters don't need much to keep them in place, so a bit of hot glue should keep them in place. I bent the factory bracket a bit so that I could fit the new tweeters in the approximate location and glued around it to hold it. It's a light modification, but if you don't want to do that, just use the glue.
