Question about Double Din

So i have the Metra dash kit for my 2003 infiniti g35 coupe and i have always used the single din with the cubby hole thing below it. I was looking at replacing with a Double din but how does that work with this dash kit. It looks like there is a plastic cross bar that would be in the way of that larger double din. Maybe im missing something but need to order a new head unit soon. Thanks for all the help.

That's the metra POS version. That piece of plastic is an add-on for people who wanna go single din. It comes right out.

your metra kit should have come with a single din and double din installation kit. unless you bought it second hand. you would break away the middle bar, then use the double din kit to install it. this link shows a picture of all the pieces that come with the dash kit. notice the double din side pieces and trim that you will need.

If you call metras customer service and tell them your situation, I'll bet they'd send it to you for free. Kinetix sent me some bolts I lost, an there was a stereo company that sent me a wiring harness (stereo side) for a stereo I bought off eBay used (no harness included). Call em and give it a shot.
