gauge cluster needle swap

so im swapping the needles from a g37 gauge cluster, the needles unfortunately do not just swap right on the holes from the g37. so what im thinking is just cut the tops off where the needles are connected and epoxy/ acrylic cement them. any issues with this idea? do you guys think the epoxy will hold up to the oscillations?
