Help installing aftermarket radio

Hey guys,
please excuse me if this post has been covered but I could not find anything related to my exact case. I had a sub and amp installed by someone while keeping my stock radio equipped with a bose system. I connected everything color to color with Wrathernaut's guide but my radio is not turning on. I put back my stock radio and it works perfectly fine.
To clarify, I don't know how my installer installed the sub and amp but it seems to be working. the only confusion i can think about is if my bose amp is in use or not. My aftermarket amp is definitely in use though. Please help. Kinda sucks paying $600 for a radio not to work.
thanks!
