Bluetooth malfunction? help

Hello! my bluetooth system seems to be continuously going off and randomly cycling through options and menus. I have never set up or even used the bluetooth while ive owned the car. I have played with the menus to the best of my knowledge but cant seem to figure out if there's a way to just turn it completely off? Is this common? Is this solely a sign of age and hardware malfunction? any advice or help is appreciated, thank you!

Could be the steering wheel controls going out and sending phantom signals to it. That or the actual bluetooth adapter is going. Neither problem is really commonly reported.

Not sure what year yours is, but in my 06 you push the Bluetooth button, you would then say "setup" then "Bluetooth off".
