Yep, that looks about right.
I corner ballance/ set-up cars all the time. I have done alot of Z's and G's. your car came out pretty good (well ballanced), for not having coilovers. You should have scaled the car with you in it though. |

Yeah. I was feeling kind of rushed and realized that I should have weighed the car with me in it just as we rolled it off the scales. Doh! I'm about 140 lbs--135 lbs on a typical autox day as it's too easy to get dehydrated here in Texas right now. Assuming a weight of 140 lbs, a track of 60.6", a wheelbase of 112.2" and my butt 12" in and 60" from the front axle the calculated weights should be (with some roundoff error):
weight: 3536 LF 980 RF 963 LR 815 RR 778 Quote:

wa2good, have you ever weighed a G without a moonroof? I'm curious as to how much weight this option adds.

No, I haven't. I would be curious as to what this option weighs as well. |

Yeah. I empty the trunk more so I can fit my race stuff in rather than to lighten the car. It seems to handle better with more weight over the rear--for autox at least. That's why I run a full tank. I have an adj front sway bar and konis on order. I may do some testing with lightening the rear to see if I can compensate for shifting the weight forward with the new adjustments.

Thanks for the info! Great insight
![]() I hope that guy with "3 year G-Driver expertise" get's a hold of this information. Him and his bogus claims Hey Scott, do you know of any place near Los Angeles where I can weigh my coupe? How much does it usually run for (price)? . |

very interesting info. Looks like the infiniti was dead on with 03-04 coupe weight. It was listed upper 34xx lb. Im guessing they listed the weight with full tank of gas and the tools inside. The 03-04 sedans are listed in upper 33xx lb. Looks like I will be looking for a place to weigh my car.

I see most 03-04 Coupe's listed in the lower 3400's according to mags & Infiniti. I agree that Infiniti probably weighed the car with a full tank of gas & tools; if balaguru would have weighed his car with the tools/spare (already including the full tank of gas he had), it would have probably added another 30-35 lbs which would put him exactly where most 04 Coupe's are rated (~3430 lbs) Good to know that Infiniti's weight claims are legit; I just never knew they weighed it with a full tank (including tools/spare). ![]() . I had mine corner weighted and came up with very similar numbers. I was at 3390 lbs.
- 03 Coupe 6mt - No nav, no aero, moonroof, premium package - 350Z 18" 6 spoke wheels with 245 R-comps - Everything stock - Removed spare but with jack - 1/3 tank of gas I bet your Hoosiers/Enkeis were alot lighter than my wheel/tire combo since I had a lot less gas in my car. Wouldn't be that tough to get down to 3300 flat range with a lightweight exhaust, a lighter battery, and less gas. |

I can do it down here in San Diego if you need me to, or Steve at M-Works is in the LA area and he can corner ballance your G as well. Price should be between $300-$500, depending on how off your car is and how long it will take. lemme know if you need any more help. |

Yeah, the hoosiers weigh 23 lbs and the enkeis 19 lbs. Do you have a rear spoiler? I know you said no aero, but I thought the spoiler was avabilable without the rest of the aero stuff.
If I run only 5 gals of fuel and pull the muffler assembly I should be able to get the car down to 3275. I just don't know how this will upset the handling and compromise my ability to the put the power down on turn exit. A lightweight battery would be great since it's weight off the front end but is illegal for the stock class. I'll be running the hollow Hotchkis front sway bar which I imagine is lighter than stock so that's a few negligible lbs off the front of the car. I was talking to an LS1 f-body driver at the event who got his car down to 3290-ish with stock legal lightening, so whatever I do I'm not going to be all that much lighter than many of my competitors. However, I don't know how much the shelby gt's weigh. They seem to be the car to have this year in f stock. Quote:

From my weight redux thread.
Quote:
I've taken out 96.6lbs out of the car. A third of that comes from the Spare tire a few pounds from the jack, tools, emergency kit, carpets. The remainder from more extreme (i.e. non-stock) measures. So I'd estimate a stock 07 coupe @ 3500 pounds with a half tank. -G __________________ ![]()
