Hallett Raceway, 29 Aug 2008 Pics

We had a high speed touring event at Hallett Raceway near Tulsa Oklahoma this past weekend and had an excellent turnout. Among the cars were all generations of Z's, three G35 Coupe 6MT, 3 Arial Atoms, a race prepped C5 Vette and GT500 Supercharged Mustang, and of course the new GTR.

BTW, the GTR was running insane track times, especially considering it was his first time on the track AND he was running with his air conditioner on the entire time! Here's a few pics:

ME FIRST!!!

Here's me not hitting the apex right, this turn is called "The Bitch" for a good reason. I eventually got the entry line right and hit the turn well later on.

Here's a better entry to the turn

Better exit:

one of the few straight sections of the track

GODZILLA!!!

Dave's super nice G,

Logan's G, Matt from Texas' Z32, and my G hiding in the back (brakes needed to cool!)

Daniel from Arkansas' z w/ a 350 Chevy V8 transplant

Here's Jared from Kansas City, he was a hell of a driver!

It's insane to think you could actually take this car to Wal-Mart....Legally!

This view didn't last very long for Logan!

I've been wanting to make it up to Hallett for a while now. Everyone I talk to here in Texas that has gone says its well worth the trip. So far it has ended up that I've been busy with work or vacation during the driving events.

I can't see any pix but that may be becuase I'm at work

Would have been sweet to oggole ove the GTR though!

Hallett is an outstanding track! From the track itself to the people who run it (Stephens Brothers Racing) this track is top notch. There isn't a flat spot on the track either; you're either going up, down, left, right but mostly it's a combination of two! It is well worth the trip here. The Oklahoma Z Car Club is organizing another event there in the near future. I know there are a few DFW area guys who are interested. We'll give you guys a heads up early and often when we do get the details hammered out.

Here's the link for the weekend, go to Logans Pics to see the majority of the Hallett pics (starts on page 11 I think). Should be a public album now.

It was uber fun! I'm now looking for a track-specific car and my wife even wants to do a few laps! I was looking into a Z32 or even another AWD Turbo DSM.
