Video of my G35 Coupe: OKC Track Event, June 09

Here's a few links to my onboard video I took of a few track sessions. The track is the Oklahoma Sheriff's training facility. They just re-sealed the road and as if that didn't make it slippery enough, it rained all night and all morning. Luckily the track dried out for my second run.

My pads were my limiting factor. I bought the Akebono BBK and I installed the OEM pads with the intent on burning through them first and then upgrading. Boy did I burn through them!!! We're not talking brake dust, but rather brake mounds accumulated at the bottom of my wheel after runs. Anyway, the first vid the track was still a bit wet so I did slip around a bit. Also, you will notice I missed a 2-3 shift once....not bad considering I have a cast on my right hand!

sorry for the video quality! The camera went out of focus on the second run.

I'll post more pics tonight. I attached a pic of my wife hanging on for her life. No, the camera is not being held on with blue tape. I did that to 1. hold the lens cover still and 2. hopefully minimize any more vibration (didn't really happen).

Thanks gunsluvS14. We're going back to Hallet MRC in August, I'll make sure to have a few more onboard camera's by then. I've watched my video's about 20 times each and found a few places I could improve on. That's why we do it though, to get seat time and to have a blast!

I'd suggest putting the camera into a view where you can also see your steering input and shifting. I know that really ruins the nice track view though.

That looks like a pretty compact track. Is it usually used for something other than HPDEs?

It's used for the Oklahoma Sheriff's department training. They let car clubs use it on Sunday's when they aren't using it. I'll have an in-car camera next spring/summer.
