*DIY Paint Headlight insides* V36

I would have to take off the bumper again. Ok so I was able to get to unscrew the 3-4 bolts holding the headlights and I can pull it out a couple of inches but its not coming out anymore because of two wires attached to the housing. What did you guys do at this step?

oh i think i know whats up. youll only be able to pull them out a couple of inches because the wiring harness that is connecting your car to the headlights is clipped in near the bottom of the headlights. You can see where it connects when you pull it out as far as you can, then just stick a flat head screwdriver between the clip and the back of the headlight and pry. It will just pop out back towards the car. Then you will be able to pull the headlight out further and then just disconnect it.

There's also another wire attached to a black frame with a clip but can't reach the clip because its in the closed frame. Do you know about this? Thanks.

Ill send you a pm with my number, just hit me up when your pull them apart again and ill help ya out.
If you aren't able to pull off the headlights from the car then you probably shouldn't be doing this modification on your own. Honestly taking the headlights off the car is the easiest part, opening them up is a huge bitch, painting is a tricky bitch, re-sealing them is the biggest bitch, and then re-lining everything up and re-installing everything is a painful bitch...... bitches are the worst, haha. needless to say I wouldn't personally attempt this if your having trouble now. I'm only saying this because I don't want someone to accidentally screw up their car and then not have anything work, seal, or line up properly and be pissed off that they even tried. Although if you do give me a call and ill try and help you as much as possible.

I did end up doing it, the harness was such a bitch to unplug. I used a blow dryer to open the headlights and it took forever. I recently bought a heat gun which was on sale and that would've been easier. Looks very different now so my car stands out.
