DIY: Spring Install Only
#61
Please help! Installed lowering springs, but my front isn't lowered after install!!!
So I successfully followed this DIY and it helped ALOT!! (Thanks again) I installed Megan MR-LS-DN00 all around. So the rear is lowered about 1.3'' (1-finger gap) but my front ISN'T even dropped whatsoever (STOCK, 3-finger gap)?!? Wondering if anyone has had this happen to them and if anyone knows what I can do? It says it should be dropped about 1.5"..Can it be that my shocks are just not settling to the new springs (been 3days and it still hasn't lowered)? I was told these Megans have one of the most stiffness in spring rate compared than most, so can it be that the springs are just absorbed? Please help with any tips and/or experiences!! Thanks in advance!!

Is that right? I was just like, man, if he can do a tutorial and have a pic ready right after installing it with it being dropped, mines should be dropped once I bring it down from the jack? Ok, I'll wait it out and update if anything changes! Any other tips would be appreciated!

Prior to installing I compared the OEM springs with the Megans and the Megans were just as expected, 1.5" shorter than the OEM. After installation, it looked higher than normal..but rested on the "3-finger" gap..

Hmmm, you may want to jack the car back up and at least take another look to make sure they're seated correctly. With a 1.5" difference, you should at worst have seen a small drop that got "droppier" as the days went by. If you're sitting higher, then I'd guess something wasn't installed correctly. Having the shock/strut completely uncompressed could lead to a little uplift, but only for a very short time (hours at most), and nothing like what you're describing.

I was thinking of doing just that this weekend! What I noticed that I've done differently, being so eager to put everything back together! LoL..I placed the strut into the 3-hole before puting the control arm together as oppose to what you had done, which was to put back together the control arm than fitting the strut to the 3-holes. Maybe my strut just isn't straightened in doing it in the manner that I have done? IDK..but I'll find out and update!! Thanks guys!!

Does anyone know what kind of nut I need to get to replace one of the three nuts at the top of the strut tower? In attempting the fronts I've stripped one of the nuts so once I figure out how to get it off I'm going to need a new one.
Thanks for this DIY btw! The rears went not too bad for a guy that has no clue what he is doing.
