What are the symptoms/noises a faulty ball joint would cause?
Would this sound be described as a clunking or "pitter patter" from the bottom of the car? Uneven pavement causes the vibration and noise? After replacing my front shocks, the rumbling on the drivers side is still present on rough streets. I had a leaking driver's side shock so I thought that was causing the noise. I guess it is the compression rod OR ball joint???

It is a clunk when turning/bumps/other things. It sounds like it comes from either the middle/front/left or right... its hard to track down. I thought it was my struts but then when having them replaced we found a gel coming out of the ball joint... jacked the joint with nothing but the strut attached to the front suspension and it clicked... Thats how it was found on my car. They can be found on ebay for 150... Its called a front steering knuckle/ spindle assembly(make sure its not just the spindle)
