So my front passenger side brembo is making the clicking noise. I went out to check on it, i saw a little piece of metal behind the caliper was touching against the rotor. I took the car to a shop, a mechanic told me that i need to replace both the break pads and the rotors.
I understand that i will need new break pads, but, not that i don't trust the guy, how can you tell if you need new rotors by looking at them?

Measure the thickness of the rotor, and check to see if they're within factory spec.
You'll want to do this with calipers, as the spec's are very very specific.
