Try using the template. With the Akebono's and 18's, i've found out it's not so much the spoke, but also the barrel that may cause fitment issues - especially if you have wheel weights in the way.

To answer your question directly, there have been a couple of people try it, i can't recall who, but they even posted pictures here and the general consensus is it won't safely fit over the Akebono's.

I believe it won't fit. I'll know for sure after my rotors come in so I can put the Akebono kit on.

bump.

can anyone confirm fit or not?

G35 coupe 18s only. All the other posts are talking about the sedan or V36 18s, which is not the same. Spoke clearance requiring spacer is fine to me. It's the inner barrel clearance I'm worried about.

They fit over my Wilwoods so I would assume there would be no issues with the Akes.

Akebono's are stupidly massive. Plus their shape is more roundish than most BBK.

Does not clear.

Hitting the outer edges of the caliper. And the two furthest out points of the caliper (where the pads seat)

This is with a 20mm spacer. Bigger spacer won't help. A smaller won't either.

^ Yeah. The rear of the Akebono's is about the same size as the front Brembo's.

Reviving old post because I just got these wheels and I have the Akebonos on my 08 G35 sedan. I have not fitted them yet.
Funny they don't clear on 1st gen g35. They seem to clear on g37.

Was wondering if it clears on g37s but not on 1st generation g35?
