03 g35 sedan curb accident $1600 est. repair bill

ok so i accidently slid in the rain in a sedan and hit a curb twice(on each side of the road) only on one side of the car, the rear passenger side. I took it to the shop instantly to get it looked at and I he told me i had pretty much broke everything on the ride side in half, it looked pretty bad, everything looked snapped nothing was really bent

so in the end he told me he was just going to replace the whole rear suspension.. I feel like the diff and the whole left side as well as hubs, brake pads, and all are all perfectly fine...

the estimate he gave me was $1600 for the whole rear suspension change as well as labor

is that fair?

and can i also ask for the old rear suspension back? did the paper i signed say he can keep it? i dont know much about this but logicly i should be able to get it back right? i have 06 tahoe so easy transport . g35 has 100k miles on it

edit : i had also looked everywhere to see a similar accident but no where could i find one. also the wheel was bent only at like 65 degree positive camber

Upload some pictures here before you have them perform work. Even if everything broke, $1600 seems a bit much. I suspect some broken suspension arms.

everything is happening fast and this is not my car so must get it repaired asap. i had no time for pictures and it is still in the shop now

some research leads me to believe that, upper and lower control arms are cracked(and by cracked i mean broken completely) in half, spindle is most likely gone, strut and shock absorber are most likely gone, as well as links and sway(stabilizer) bar is cracked. cross member is also destroyed.

he is just replacing the whole rear, diff and all, both sides of the rear with a whole new one used. he says i hit it pretty hard and i might as well get the new rear.

i still would like to know if i will be able to get my old rear back that he is replacing.

That is a question for him. Call a junk yard and purchase a complete rear subframe for about $450. The labor shouldn't be more than 2-3 hours on a lift. $1600 sounds to much. Parts are now easy to find at wreckers or junk yards.
