04 G35 Coupe Brake Change

Hi, everyone I am new. I have used this site many times for answer on how to repair my G35.

But I am planning on changing my brakes and possibly rotors on my G35. I am not sure which kind of brakes to buy. I notice from the exterior that they say Brembro so I take it that they are Brembo style or is that just a cover to the calibers? Also I noticed that there is cover on the back ones as well. So what should I do? please and Thank you.

Welcome to Driver Rotamint! Hopefully no one has come up with Brembo caliper covers, chances are good you do have Brembo brakes! When you get into your brakes and find you need rotors there are several vendors on our Marketplace that sell Brembo replacement rotors, the best replacements are made by DBA. You can also buy pads from the same vendor, again I suggest HAWK HPS pads. They will stop your G better than any other pad and leave very little dust! If you're familiar with the TireRack, they did several tests proving my point! Questions, give me a PM...Gary

Very likely the calipers are made by Brembo. Those cars use a different rotor than the normal G's so be sure to get them from a place that differentiates between the two cars.

Hawk HPS is a great pad choice for those cars, I've had lots of happy customers get them.

I disagree with the Hawk pad recommendation. And here are some others who do as well.

I have used Hawk HPS on a prior car and was not impressed; in fact they made the car scary in the rain and cold weather.
I suggest Carbotech pads..along with excellent modulation, it has low dust and truely does stop well regardless of operating temperature or wetness. http://www.ctbrakes.com/

Carbotech is also a great pad choice, they make a great product but sometimes it's hard to sell those because people don't like paying the premium price for them.

Keep it simple. Stoptech (Centric) plain blank rotors are excellent quality, relatively inexpensive and work great. Pair them with Project Mu NS pads for the street, and you will basically have a set that works like OEM at much less cost. I've been running this combo for years on my coupe and love it.

Hawk HPS pads are really not a great choice for the street. Their cold (initial) bite is awful if you live in a place that has temps below 50 degrees, or if it rains much.
