Dropped my 2004X

Dropped my 2004 G35x last week. Eibach pro kit springs, KYB GR2 springs and cut Koni bump stops. Rides great, no perpetual bounce and still maintains some of the stock comfort but sport handling.
Prefit:

Trimmed Koni's (1/4"). - combined it's almost a 20% increase in travel. Manufacturer's Part Number: 7034530000

Up on jacks:

Finished prod:

(Before):

Additional:

Also trimmed about 1.5" off the front mud guards:

And in the same visit swapped out the H4s (fogs/brights) for yellow H4s (Putco):

Did you have any issues with the lower bolts on the struts? Mine appear to be seized and my impact (350ft-lbs) didn't budge it.

They were pretty stuck; I used a breaker bar with a cheater bar to break them loose!

Thanks! The alignment has remained spot on so I haven't taken it in though I am still going to because I want them to adjust the camber to as close to spec as they can. I can definitely see a change in the camber, though not significant, it will probably affect tire wear as-is.

I tried a breaker bar and cheater before the impact and was worried the car would fall off the jack stands. I'll probably put it up on my buddy's lift and get serious with that bolt.

Glad to hear you are happy with the drop!

YA it was a B man... I've broken sockets on stuff and I thought they may on this. Wd40 or PBlaster may not be out of the question. I'm in arid colorado but if you have humidity I could see it being harder.

Really the bolts on the top of the front struts turned out to be the biggest challenge.

For me a offset box wrench would not do the trick. I had to cut out the stock boot and put a clamp (vise grips) on the stock strut rod an use an impact gun to break THOSE loose.

Also for anyone curios in the future, I struggled finding info for the right Koni bump stops for the KYB-GR2 (I.e. Excel) stuts for the v35 sedans. I gambled on the:

KON-7034530000
Bushing, Bump Stop, Polyurethane, Black, Round Tapered, 2.170 in. Length

I got them from Summit racing. They were the perfect fit for the rod diameter.

I ended up trimming off 1/4" as my pictures show. It doesn't seem like a lot per stop but when you see them stacked up, it like 30% less stop (combined), which is a lot of travel when it comes to springs. The stops are the right fit and if you don't trim they may be fine but i did a 1/4" and my ride still feels great with plenty of travel but the performance I was looking for.

{begin rant} Bump stops are under rated and there isn't a lot of discussion around them but it is one of the most important aspects when going with lowering springs and shocks vs. Coilovers. I think it is this lack of understanding that gives performance springs a bad wrap a lot of times... {end rant}
