Vdc issue with same size tires.. But different brand
So I have an 04 coupe with the brembo package. I had bf Goodrich kdw2 245/45/18's all around. The rears wore out and they don't make the brand of tire in that size anymore. I ended up getting riken Raptors that are also 245/45's and I'm having issues with the vdc. When I come into corners and hit the brakes at even slower speeds it activates either the vdc or the abs. I leave the vdc off at all times and it still does it. With the vdc on it will even activate the brakes while not touching the brakes at all. I've heard of people having staggered tires on these cars with no issue. Mine are all the same size but different brands so maybe 1/4 inch difference. I tried cleaning the wheel speed sensors and still no help. What can I do other than replacing all 4 tires that aren't bad? The issues driving me crazy to the point it doesn't feel safe to drive the car.

Plus the fronts are worn to some degree, just not yet worn out. If rears are new and mfr spec is larger than front mfr spec, that would just exacerbate the tire diameter/circumference difference. I don't know what percentage difference it would take to kick off VDC freak-out though.

I had a buddy a that had an 04 coup that was fully built full suspension and I think had 18's in the front and 19's in the back. I don't remember the exact sizes but they were definitely taller and he had no issues. I'm used to camaros and mustangs so I wanted to do the staggered look I've ways had. Not much. But at least a little bit. That wasn't even where I was going with getting the tires this time. I needed them fast and the other brand is discontinued.

I have no cel's. I live in an area that has a lot of steep hills and sharp corners. With the vdc on the car is almost not drivable. With even slight cornering it applies the brakes while not touching them at all. This happened the first time I replaced the rear tires to the bfg's. But the fronts were close to gone also so I swapped them within a couple weeks and the problems went away. I just figured something was wrong causing it to be overly sensitive

Were you having similar issues with the same size BFG's? I know some folks on here have run same width on all four corners, but they typically go lower profile with the fronts (like 245/40) since the VDC expects a 2.7% stagger (from the factory the car comes with a staggered 225/45-18 front and 245/45-18 rear setup). You've basically removed the factory stagger by running 245/45-18 all around. I would have expected that to cause issues before you changed brands.
You could try borrowing a staggered set from another G or 350Z owner to see if the issue is related to the tires or related to wheel sensors, etc. Assuming it's your tire setup, your best bet would be to change out the fronts for a set of either 225/45-18 or 245/40-18 (basically a setup that is similar in diameter to 225/45-18)

With the same size bfg's all around it had no problems. And with the tires I got it with Goodyear eagle's same size all around it had no problem. I've had problems both times that I only swapped 2 tires at a time with different brands in the front and rear. I did notice that the raptor tires in the rear are slightly smaller than the fronts. I tried swapping them but then realized the rims are different for the front and back. I'm thinking about having the front and rears swapped at a shop and seeing if that fixes the problem.

I'm gonna have the front swapped to the rear just to burn them off. After that I'll probably order another set of the raptors in 225 for the front then. They're cheap tires and have way more sidewall flex than the bfg's did. But the actually grip pretty damn good. Not like I'm drag racing the car or anything lol. It's stock other than a plenum spacer.
