2003 6MT coupe on 350z Bilstein/Pro-Kit

Initial impression.. PERFECT.

I bought my car with D2 RS true coilovers on it. A lot of tuning later, and I had them daily driveable, but the high spring rate since they are designed to go LOW had them crashing on bumps and bridge joints way too much for my comfort.

With some careful Ebay shopping I scored a set of very low mileage used Bilsteins from a 2008 350z..like half price for 5 months worth of use. Perfect for my budget with this car. The seller even hooked me up with the stock upper mounts which I didn't have with the D2s.

My research on ride quality and drop led me to buy a set of 350z Eibach Pro-Kit springs next..new at $250 shipped.

It all came together here the other day, I assembled them and ran out of daylight, so it was on for the next day.

The coilovers were off, pics taken and posted for sale, and the Bilstein/Eibach setup was on in just over an hour..

The drop on the Bilstein/Eibach after an "exuberant" 5 mile test drive is identical to where I was sitting for height on the D2. I know it will settle a bit over the coming weeks and that's fine with me.. exactly what I wanted.

Car is sitting at 25 1/2" at all 4 corners from the fender lip to the ground. I'm on 18" wheels, 235/40 front and 275/35 rear. I love the stance of the car, knowing it is a functional drop..no not "stanced" I have full contact patch. or very near full.

Riding at that height for the last few thousand miles I have no camber wear issues. I'll keep an eye on it and adjust/buy/align as necessary.

typing this on the laptop and adding pics off my phone later. so follow along..

The box they came in. .lol

Volks? Supra fitment. Front 18x9 +43, 235/40/18 15mm spacer, Rear 18x10 +44, 275/35/18 +25mm

I'm going with fatter tires once these Riken Raptor wear out. They were brand new (dyno break in miles) when I bought the wheels.

Few hundred miles in and still loving this combo. Will take some measurements tomorrow to see if it settled any more.

If you already do not have a rear camber kit with toe bolts, I'd definitely keep an eye on rear camber wear.. It's hard too tell with the wheels on your car... But pay close attention to that and take a tire off and examine it... Safety first...

I'm keeping a close eye on it, checking tread depth by gauge, much better than eyeballing it

Some of us do not agree with the toe bolt upgrade.(dremel the toe bolt location for more adjustability)But by all means I'd just do it so the alignment tech can get it perfect...

What is it, just an eccentric bolt and washer?

Toe bolts are the most necessary mod when lowered. $27 and a couple hours under the car will save you a ton of money on tires.

It's a bolt with eccentric cam washer and a stencil you trace and then drill out with a carbide bit. Basically you enlongate the hole that the toe bolt/spring bucket sit in, and you get the eccentric bolt and cam washer.

Sounds easier than my past z3 race car. To get rear camber and toe adjustment you had to weld plates to the trailing arm brackets in order to use oem e38 eccentrics.
