Impact Wrench

For those who own an impact wrench. Do you own an electric or air compressor one? if air compressor, what size compressor would I need for a 4-500 ft lbs impact wrench. I would prefer an electric one to save space but I cannot seem to locate any electric impact wrenches that has that much max torque.

My $50 harbor freight electrical one has gotten me out of a few jams with no problem.

Literally lol

Jersey nailed it! Harbor Freight is your best place to find one that doesn't empty your wallet, and works good enough for most garage mechanics...Gary

bolts that holds wheel hub in place are notoriously hard to remove (personal experience). My concern is an electric wrench with max 200+ lbs won't do it.

I have a Milwaukee 1/2 electric impact and it's pretty good. I was able to remove a axle nut from a Volvo with it. Didn't work too well on my Audi axle nut, but did loosen it significantly that a breaker bar popped it off. They have one more that is a step up from mine called the Milwaukee Fuel, which has a lot more torque. I think mine is about 300 pounds.

I have an air compressor as well, but don't have an impact for it. It only has about 25 gallon tank and 4.1 SFCM. I want to buy the Harbor Freight Earthquake wrench, but still unsure how my compressor would handle it.

Overall, the cordless and hand tools have helped me do everything driveshafts, suspension, brakes, rotors, etc.. without problems.
