Tein H Tech + Tokico D vs Tein Basic

Hi everyone

seems like Tein H(350z) + Tokico D is a popular set up and i'm wondering how's the ride comparing with Tein Basic coilover?

from a price point Tein H runs around $150 ~ $189 and D spec is around $489 ~$550 so total is about $700ish and the Tein Basic is around $750 ~ $850ish..

so is Tein Basic a better way to go?? since the price is only a bit different... and it's ride height adjustable right?

oh.. and all i want to do to the sedan is to lower the car with 19" and give it a nicer look, better handling, stiffer ride and without using any camber kit.

thank you all and please forgive my english ...

e.

Send a message via AIM to Fini
Is there a way to tell the difference between the earlier oem 350z springs and the revised springs?

Edit: I found the answer

Sorry, If I sound stupid on asking this. But If all 03 G35 came with the same springs then what make the 03 6speed Coupe Sport tuned suspension different from others? And in your opion which spring offer almost the same ride as stock but give a good drop? thanks Also thanks for makeing this tread, it gives alot of info!

What are the pros and cons of progressive spring rates vs. linear spring rates? What makes one better or worse than the other? When would you want to choose one over the other?

Linear spring compress at a steady rate. If you put a 500 pound weight on a 500 pound spring, it would compress the spring one inch. Put another 500 pounds on and it compress another inch... and so on.

Progressive springs compress at a increasing (non-linear) rate. The first inch might compress at 384 pounds. The second inch might compress at 420 pounds... the third, 450... then 480... then 500... it progresses higher as you apply more pressure.

Progressive springs yield a more comfortable ride than linear springs because they are "softer" at their fully extended position. Progressive springs usually let a car roll a bit more than linear springs. Some times they can cause a car to bounce more over bumps.

Linear springs give a firmer ride... the car rolls less... and it doesn't bounce as much over bumps.

I may stand corrected but the struts and shocks were different on the tunes suspension. The spring rates were the same for 03.
