Should I buy this 08 G35???
Hey all! New to this forum! Im in quite the pickle here........ Leased a 13 Mini Cooper and i hate it now (dont ask why i got rid of my A4 for it). But Im trying to get rid of this thing and i know im going to roll over a lot of negative equity but I dont mind making car payments i just need something else.. I work at a car company with a slew of different dealerships including infiniti, but we have this 2008 G35S sedan 6sp with 56K miles thats really clean. With my rollover itll be about $20,000 for me. Heres a link to the car. Is this way to much for the car? Itll be the last car i buy reguardless and its between this or an 03 IS300. What do you guys think?

This one is as good as it gets with the miles. My price is about $12,500-13,000. But like I said I'll be rolling over quite a bit. I work that that company and we have an Infiniti dealer as well so servicing shouldn't be to bad

Gotta get my credit union the info and we will see. Just saw it yesterday while at work and went up the road to drive it. Just wanted to see if it is worth me paying 20 grand for this car. I don't mind payments like I said. But Just If It's Worth It

Car has been in an accident. Please do your research and make sure to negotiate properly
Car is not worth $20k but that is because you have to roll over negative equity. In my opinion the car is worth $15K

If you want long term reliability, the IS300 will be your better choice.
(btw, the 2JZ is better for boosting)
OH, one last note: I'd suggest having the oil pressure tested before you buy anything with either the HR or VHR motor 07-11 model years. You don't want to inherit a ticking time bomb.

If you're out for stock performance, the G will be better.

I'm actually starting to think that those who racked up mileage quickly may fare better than those who are only now racking up the higher mileage as time goes by. But heck, who knows anyway? It's always a bit of a crap shoot buying a used car.

Well, not necessarily as a rule, but more than I'd car to admit too. The worst part is that if you happen to be one of the unlucky ones, the costs can be seriously painful; so much so that you'd wish you never bought the car. That being said, there are many who have clocked a great deal of mileage and had minimal problems.

Not to dig into financials here, but that's a LOT to roll over into this car. You are basically starting DEEP in the hole on this.
If you bought this '08 and it gets totalled, you will pretty much get paid $10-12K or so and then owe the balance. Add a few more years of depreciation and you will be paying for a car worth $5-8K or so.
To claim it will be the last car you own doesn't justify it, because at any time the car can be stolen, totalled, or have a major issue occur like a blown engine/transmission.
I just wouldn't recommend anyone take on that much negative equity and risk for any car.
