Help Purchasing a Used G35

I have 150,000 kms on my '03 G35 Sedan. I have never touched or had an issue with the electronics. I follow the owners manual, it is dealer serviced for the last 6 years, and runs great. It is a family car, I am retired and drive maybe 5,000 kms per year. I put move miles on my CBR1100XX than my G. Obviously not driving a lot or modding my G might help its longevity. I don't know. Mine is a Japanese madel, two owner vehicle, always dealer maintained. My next G goal is to bring the suspension back to oem. It is parked in a heated garage and never abused. I have driven it to California and a few long trips. It is an excellent vehicle and good dollar value. If I thought wasting my money on another G, a depreciating asset, was a wise decision, I would go for a newer G, no reason not to. But I would rather remodel the home in the Philippines and make sure my grand kids have a head start. It is a matter of priorities and looking down the road. PS, I am 70 so for sure my values are very different from most on this forum. Good luck on whatever decision you make, debt is bad, clear title is good. Do not let low interest rates fool you, imho

Depends on the price and your ability to perform maintenance and repairs. Buying an old luxury car is never a good idea unless you want to make it your pride and joy and plan on keeping it long term. I guarantee mine will last to 300k+, but I perform all my own maintenance/repairs. As far as the dealer or a lot of mechanics are concerned, you could easily spend more on repairs than the car is worth because its an "Infiniti".

I have 151K miles on my G35x, and i'd be lying if i said every few months or so there's a minor issue I need to repair.
Not major enough to make me ditch the car, but little things here and there, like one the keyless entry buttons on the doors dying, or a torn boot on a CV axle shaft, or a window motor needing to be retimed.
Engine and driveline are solid, but if i wasn't able to repair these little things myself, then they might start to pile up and make it difficult to justify keeping the car. If you expect to take a 100K mile G35 to 200K miles, my advice would be to be ready to maintainand repair your car yourself...or have some cash set aside for repairs.
And that goes for any car over 100K miles. **** breaks...nothing is gonna stop that.
