buying a G35 from a friend out of state, what do I need to know?
Hello all,
I have a question, I am purchasing a G35 from my friend, I am paying cash for it. I am a resident of Florida, but I am currently on a long project in North Carolina. I need to return my leased car to Miami, FL on Nov 1st. The license plate is mine. I will be driving my leased car to Miami the weekend I need to return it and then fly to STL
My plan is to fly to St Louis and drive the car to Raleigh, NC. I have to stay in NC while I am still on this project that might take several months, I can’t go back to Florida in the next few months because of work.
How do I go about registering the car in Florida, do I have to drive to FL to get it registered, I own my current FL license plate and my driver’s license is from FL, my insurance is from FL as well. I am on a project in NC and I don’t want to register my car here since I am leaving soon.
Any suggestions are much appreciated.

You need to know your friend... So he won't sell you crap that will break down on you. As long as FL doesn't have inspections you should be able to register it and bring it to emissions all in one Saturday after setting up insurance. After those are set, you're fine. In CT I have one month to pass emissions after registering the vehicle. So you can stretch it if you would like to.
