2007 with high miles or 04 with less

I want it for an everyday driver, though it will sit in my driveway when the weather is bad and, something quick which I know both are but the 07 having a few more ponies. I will typically drive it 200 miles a week. 07 has navigation, dual climate control, keyless entry, mp3 player , six disc cd player, security system, sunroof, stability control, aluminum wheels, heated mirrors, heated black leather seats 5 speed automatic. I think it has somewhere around 300hp The 04 has heated tan leather seats, and is 5 speed automatic as well. I think it has 280hp. They both are in great shape but I have never owned an Infiniti or a Nissan, I have wanted one for a long time , and just wonder if I should buy one with 160,000 on it. How long typically does the engine and transmission last in these cars? My gut says I should by the 04 but 07 has more options and I like it better. I do wish either one had a manuel transmission but I will be happy with the auto. Thank you.

A lot of the things you listed as options are standard on all Gs. The 04 most likely has most of (if not all) of the things the 07 has, except maybe the nav and dual zone climate control. The nav on both would be super outdated anyway tho, so shouldn't be a deciding factor.
Now as far as horsepower, without getting into it too much, the power never changed, the way horsepower was rated changed in 05. That's where the difference comes in. However, those 298 rated motors only came in 05+ 6mts, so the fact that they're both auto means both cars have the same exact motor.
These are basically the same exact cars other than some interior styling differences. The 04 is the better choice.

Do you plan on doing any forced induction at any point in time? If so, the 07 will fare better as it has more stout internals that will hold up to higher HP applications. The 04 simply cannot hold up to higher HP applications like the 07 can without major internal engine upgrades. From my understanding, the 07-08s came with the VQ35HR engine whereas the the 03-06s came with the VQ35DE engines. Nearly identical in output, but intakes and internal pieces are different, which makes the HR engine stronger for F.I. applications.
If you're not interested in doing high hp forced induction applications and you just want to do commuting duties, the 04 may serve you better due to the lower mileage. Granted, the 07 has more options, but most options are standard across the platform. Also, most people replace those options with aftermarket units such as stereo, nav, etc. because the factory ones are not that great.
Both should last a long time, provided they are cared for. Engines and transmissions are becoming cheap as they are now outdated with new 3rd generation versions. Both are relatively easy to work on if you do the work yourself. If you can't do the work yourself, then repairs go up significantly due to mechanic prices. For example, my 06 sedan with 100k on the clock needed new rear shocks. I was quoted nearly $800 for the job. I did it myself in 2 hours with $100 worth of parts.
Check blue book values, black book values, see how you feel about paying for either one and ultimately listen to your gut. it's usually right.

Its kinda a toss-up, but the 04 is probably a slightly better choice since it has less miles. I still prefer the 05-07's due to the minor interior and exterior upgrades.
I would look into both cars' maintenance records and go from there. Technically the 04 should still be cheaper, but it just depends. If the 07 was well-maintained, it should still be a solid choice if you go that route. With proper routine maintenance, these cars can last 200-300k miles.
Auto trans should be perfect for a daily driver esp in city commuting. If it will be parked outside, I would suggest buying a car cover at least as a cheap investment. It will help keep the car clean and protected from the elements.
Personally, I would go with the 07 as long as it is in good shape and all maintenance is up to date.
Good luck with your choice
