Group thoughts on Tinting

Hello All,

Im new to G35 Driver. I've had my Black G coupe for about 3 months and im lookin to get a tint, among other things. I've already read through the post on tints and came up with SolarGuard, Johnson, Llumar and Huper as some of the better tints. I wanna summarize the ideas of the forum on what is the best tint. For those of you out there with tints, lets us know how u like or dont like ur tint for; heat reduction, fading, bubbling, style (look), and whatever other concerns are associtated with custom tint jobs.

my opinion....tint is tint..as long as your installer give u a lifetime warranty..it'll look good..and if it fades bubbles etc, take it back to have it fixed...other than that heat-resistant tint ( dont recall the name off hand) as long as you to a reputable shop, their top of the line tint ( aka the lifetime warranty stuff) will be sufficient and look good as well.....it all depends on the installer.....some joe shmo could install the "BEST" tint around..and it could bubble....just my 2 cents

Re: Group thoughts on Tinting

ive never owned a car that wasnt tinted. imo, it makes any car look better. i have a black g with 20% tint. in the past i used to worry about bubbles and such, but i guess as i get older i dont give a crap anymore. the only thing, you never want to retint your rear window because it could screw up the defroster strips. ive been going to the same guy for 10 years now and usually my car gets tinted the day after i pick it up from the dealer. i really dont care about the heat reduction, although it does reduce heat, its all about looks for me. and personally, i would only tint one shade all around w/ 6" strip on windshield.

I've used Johnson many years ago, but their tint turned purple in a month........however, I've heard, they've change manufacturing processes. Solargard is also a film I've used in the past, but didn't feel it was clear enough, which is why I am now using Madico Widnow Films.
