Help! Oil all over the G

So today when I was leaving work someone must have thrown some 1L engine oil containers on the side of the road and when I pulled out I didnt see them and ran over one which literally blew up and covered half my car with oil. So I rushed to the car wash and washed it and it still had oil on it so I went home and sprayed with a bug and tar remover. I've got it off but was wondering if it could damage the paint. Anyone?? Thanks

Just do another wash with a carwash soap. If the surface still looks oily wash with dawn. Either way you need to apply a fresh coat of wax or sealant.

Oil will not hurt the paint.

Actually running it through the car wash was probably more risky than the oil. Just give it a good washing by hand. Dawn is a good idea if it persists, but don't overdo it because it can dry the rubber trim and seals (as I learned today).

it's good that you washed it cause ive seen cars that had
drips of oil from their garage door rails which stained it.

never know wat that oil might contain.

i would probably just use double dose of car shampoo and
wash once or twice.
