Re: got armor all on plastic wont come off
Try a plastic polish that you can buy from anywhere. Typically they are for convertible rear "windows". I also read on this site that many people have used it for their headlights when they get hazy. I would just be careful not to get it on the vinyl surrounding the area, although if you armoralled it, it shouldn't stick. Also, I have found that ArmorAll attracts more dust and produces a huge glare on the windshield. If you like the Armorall look, you may want to try 303 Protectant. This stuff is great, provides a non greasy finish, satin type shine, repels dust, and will not produce as much of a glare. It's a bit expensive (vs. armorall), but well worth it. It could be tough to find, but I know it's available through Griots Garage and marine supply stores (West Marine, etc.). You can also look in the back of almost any auto magazine for places that carry it.

Chances are, the chemicals "ate" into the paint of the plastic..........this is why many of these companies' labels say to avoid contact w/ certain materials in the vehicle. Likely, you'll need to replace that piece if you want it back the way it was originally.

If you like the Armour All look, I would try using 303 Protectant. The stuff is awesome. Not as much gloss, not as much glare (on the windshield), and it doesn't attract dust. I would still avoid getting it on the plastic pieces. It provides a nice clean, non-greasy look. It's a little more expensive, but worth every cent!
I would just spray some on a terry applicator instead of directly on the dash to avoid getting it on the plastic pieces.

one of my best friends worked at a great car collection in Maine, largest in the world for Dusenbergs...they swore against Armor All and for good reason...
The chemstry behind it is that it pulls the small amounts of moisture out from the material it is being applied to, really hygroscopic...so when you put it on your dash it pulls the moisture out and it looks great for a while until it evaporates through the surface. The chemical traps the moisture for a while in its coating so it looks liquid and wet but as soon as it evaporates everything looks parched and dry because you lost more moisture than you had originally, so you reapply and the cycle continues. The best thing you can do now is never put that crap on again and try to buy products that moisturize the dash. No alcohols or harsh chemicals, try to get a wet cloth and rub over it a few times as a temporary way to get some h20 back in, it wont help much but ill ask my buddy what he would use to remedy the situation and ill let you know as soon as I can...wouldnt want to replace that dash if you can fix it in time...

Re: got armor all on plastic wont come off
I would never use Armour All on my G. I was just replying to someone elses post regarding Armour All. I actually reco'd to use 303 Protectant instead. I used it use it years ago on my truck and it worked well, not greasy like armour all...etc. Personally, I don't like that shiny look.
I would be interested to know if your friends can look into that 303 Protectant though. I wonder if it's any different from Armour All. My experience says yes, but only science can prove it.

Re: got armor all on plastic wont come off
ill have to check the 303 stuff out, ill ask him about it...
as for the original problem, my buddy told me what i was gonna suggest, is a leather/vinyl conditioner...apply frequently until the moisture is reabsorbed back into the dash...
let us know how it goes, im sure a lot of people fall prey to the armor all crap...

I think that would work. I am not really a fan of the greasy look. Looks too fake for me. But always good to know how to get rid of it if happens. How I don't know....but who knows!
