so i called. i didnt realize that i would be giving them my block otherwise i can keep it and pay an additional 750$ to them, which would make it 3350 for a built block, minus whatever I can sell my block for.

i dunno....

yeah 2600 just seems a little excessive to have pistons and rods put in.. i've been exchanging msgs with v35_Tek...

I think that is about right. When you take into account the additional parts (studs, bearings, etc.), machining work, assembly, etc., it will cost you just as much to do it on your own.

im doing some math, and i should come out quite a bit under the 2600.. but it's honestly not a BAD deal, just less of a headache.

$1000 for rods and pistons
$200 for rod, main, and thrust bearings
$300 full OEM gasket set
$200 ARP head studs
$200 ARP main studs
-----------
$1900 in parts for a build good for 450 HP

Might as well get metal headgaskets while you're apart, but thats just the old school supra guy in me..

meh stock HG is really fine.. personally Id get a HR one and do the proper cooling modifications to the block.

the only thing is i would need help taking the block off and back in.. that's the tough part...

Eagle rods and je pistons. Those held 600 rwhp on my z28 (nitrous). Quality stuff there

I beg to differ, building the engine is more complicated than removing the block... takes a lot more precision.

well i agree, but i'm not gonna be doing that part. i'm talking about the part that I have to do, which is get the block out, and deliver it, pick it up, and then put it back in....

Told you emad....i have a shortblock for you if you want it. Rob is right there is alot that goes into building a highperformance motor. This is not something you want to skimp on. that being said i highly recomend z1motorsports, these guys know what they are doing. I dont have any experiance with ipp, though i have heard good things about them.
