FYI: License Plate Law Changed
A few weeks ago I got a ticket from a fat POS cop for "an improperly displayed front license plate" because my plate is in my windshield. He sited me under state code 502.404. Well I did some research and the law changed on January 1st this year. Registration and license plates used to be covered together under state code 502 but now only registration is under 502 and licenses plates are under 504.
Previously some have interpreted the old law to require you to keep your plate on your bumper and not the windshield. Under the new law (transportation code 504.943) you are required to have 2 plates but it doesn't specify where. It actually says you must "comply with department rules regarding the placement of license plates." So then you go to the Department of Transportations website and it says "placement or mounting is not defined."
Long story short I fought the ticket and had it dismissed. So anyone else gets a ticket for this hopefully this helps you.

That is actually different. Basically the legal system says that even though they forgot that portion of the law that a judge can still assess a fine because it has been done in the past. However, that is different from what my OP is about. You are still required to have a front and rear license plate, it's just that the law doesn't specify where they have to be located.
